Hi My name is Pjottr and I am new here. So bear with me if I am not yet fully acquainted with this forum
This is wahet Malwarebytes found after a scan on Sept 7

Files Detected: 1
C:\Program Files\Vimicro\Vimicro USB PC Camera (VC0305)\tools\x86\vmdrv.exe (Trojan.Pirminay) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.
I have this camera already for a long time but Malwarebytes never detected this exe file only after the last uodate on Sept 7th 2012
After doing some research on the internet I found out that vmdrv.exe is used by good vendors but also by bad vendors.
The file was quarantained and the camera still working
Hopefully there are people here who can shine me a light on this as I am still not sure whether this is a false Pos or a trojan indeed
Thanks in advance

Hello , and welcome to malwarebytes.org

If you would like to check if you have a false positive, please read the instructions here:

http://forums.malwar...?showtopic=3228

And then post the developer's log and the Virustotal scan link here:

http://forums.malwar...hp?showforum=42

It may also be useful if you could zip and attach the suspect file for the developers to look at.

If you would like the experts to check your computer for malware infections, please print out, read and follow the directions here:

http://www.malwareby...?showtopic=9573

Try to complete all the steps, but you can skip any steps you are unable to complete. Then post a NEW topic here:

http://www.malwareby...php?showforum=7

If your computer is un-bootable, just post a description of the problems you are having there.
One of the expert helpers there will give you one-on-one assistance when one becomes available.
After posting your new post make sure under options that you select Track this topic and choose one of the Email options so that you're alerted when someon has replied to your post.

Alternatively, as a paying customer, you can contact the help desk at support@malwarebytes.org

Hi, pjottr:

Until Firefox returns...

Thanks for the logs.
In order to get prompt attention from the devs, it would probably be best to follow his original advice and post the logs in the False Positives forum >>HERE<<. :)

Thanks!

You can restore that file from quariritine. That was a false positive a few days ago and should be fixed with the recent database updates. After u restore be sure to update and rescan again. it should no longer be detected./

Hi, pjottr::

I noticed that you just now reported this same file as a possible FP.

Did you see Shadowwar's reply here yesterday? http://forums.malwar...ndpost&p=597140

It appears that, YES, it was a false positive and that it was fixed a few days ago. :)

Please be sure to update your MBAM definitions and then scan again -- MBAM should no longer detect this file.
