Awesome! Installation went fine here, but it required a reboot still. Log shortly.

i do have a question so with this update does that mean its not going to be set to a delayed start?

also if its still going to be set to a delayed start will you at least honor the settings that people have changed it to ( in my case every single update i have to go into the services settings and change it to automatic ).

Yes, this version will require a reboot. Future releases (after 1.65) will not thanks to the changes we made in 1.65.

It will be Automatic from now on, so there will be no need to change it (I always had to do that in the past as well, I hated that it started with a delay :P).

It all depends on how the beta testing goes. If we find any major issues in testing before release, then that could certainly delay things because we don't want to release a buggy version if we can avoid it. That's the entire point of beta testing.

Over install, reboot, checked for updates/Manual update, ran Qscan and all is well. Once again job well done and a very smooth operation. OS Vista Home Prem. sp2/32 bit

Reminder: After rebooting, open MBAM and check for updates/Manual (Database version) before running the Qscan/etc

The above manual check for updates info is due to if the the last two boxes (Updates and Launch) in the install setup is not checked, which I have checked and the automatic Malwarebytes Updates and Launch works perfectly fine. :)

I guess this is not a bug, but the expected behavior, anyway is worth to be reported. After install (over the previous) i did not reboot and ran Mbam anyway. I got the system error "Run-time error 453, can't find the entry point of the ProtectionNotifyChange dll in mbam".

After reboot and database update, everything is ok :)

Thanks for the beta.....

I installed it on a VM with windows XP SP3. I installed it over latest version, but I had the trial running that was expired. (this way on purpose). It installed fine over the trial, asked for a reboot. Everything came back OK, trail version still expired after the upgrade. I assume this is by design?

Installation and scan after reboot : everything's working fine on Win 7 SP1 Pro x64 (I'm using the Pro version) and, yes, it's now starting "automatically" with Windows (and not "delayed", as previously).

However, I noticed that, since this latest version, the program is not listed anymore under the automatic startup items ("msconfig" Windows, CCleaner, Revo Uninstaller and TuneUp Utilities 2012).

As this never occured before, I was wondering if this normal, a bug or a correction still to be made ?

Thanks for your time ! :)

Hello Firefox,

This is by design, when a trial expires it will continue to be expired.

Thank you for your testing. :)

Installed and working well here. Just one question:

"Realtime protection may now be cleanly terminated via the 'Exit' option in the tray without leaving any running processes"

Shouldn't this require the settings password to be input (if set). I was able to terminate MBAM from the tray icon menu as a limited user and couldn't re-enable it unless I restarted MBAM with admin privileges. Surely there should be a way to prevent a user from terminating MBAM against the wishes of the administrator?

That's normal. Check Services.msc or Sysinternals Autoruns. You'll see our services listed there. Those are the only startup entries we're using for the protection module now.

Yes, we intend to password protect the tray options eventually, we just haven't implemented that yet (it was the same in version 1.62).
