Greetings TommyDecker :)

That looks fine to me. Keep in mind however that Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is NOT an antivirus, nor is it a substitute for an active, up to date antivirus software. Malwarebytes is a complementary form of protection designed specifically to catch the latest threats that most antivirus software fails to detect, fails to remove or both. If you want a simple, free antivirus solution known to work well with Malwarebytes, I would recommend Microsoft Security Essentials, available here.

If you do choose to use Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE), then please set exclusions as described in Section I of our FAQ.

Greetings all beta testers :),

Please be advised that we are going to push out a new version of the beta shortly. Build 1.60.0.1600 will download when you check for updates if you're using the current beta build (1.60.0.1400) and if you have the default option Download and install program update if available. checked under Updater Settings.

This will allow us to test upgrade installations and it also contains a few minor bugfixes that were reported during testing of 1.60.0.1400 so we would like all beta testers to update to the new version. Just as before, please post any feedback or issues here so that we can diagnose and hopefully resolve them.

Thanks everyone :)!

Installed the update, still had a fairly long blank screen after log in just like the last time, but it didn't last as long this time.

version: 1.60.0.1600
Date: 12/22/2011 3:34:51 pm
Database version: v2011.12.20.06
fingerprints loaded: 351093

still missing the taskbar icon, I have a screen shot of it if you need it.

Hello wildman,

I sent you a PM to work with the issue you are experiencing, I want to work through this and get a replication for the dev team.

Thank you.

Updated. Everything went smoothly as expected, no problems at all. After restart, the manual update downloaded a serie of updates.
The latest database is:

Date: 23/12/2011 - 1.09
Database version: v2011.12.23.01
Fingerprints loaded: 351171

One suggestion I have is adding a requirement to enter the settings password when disabling the protection module from the system tray.

latest version downloaded , unzipped and installed "over the top of" the old version ...
during the installation procedure , the notification of previous version , updating and shutting down to install the latest version produced a "double installation" pane .
both panes had the same version number (newest as far as i could tell) .
this may be a little confusing to the uninitiated (and possibly increase their PF) .

i don't know if this is a fluke or something more common when installing over the top of an old version .
i don't know if this is mentioned in/on the faq page .

elsewise , all is ok .

We are aware of this. Would recommend not updating through installer and do an update once its fully installed.
