Hi,

I've got a Dell Inspiron 580 desktop running Windows 7. Symptoms are lack of internet connectivity using both LAN and wireless card. Checked modem and router, both are working fine, internet still accessible using other devices. Ran malwarebytes and it found trojan agent on svchost.exe. Tried to clean it with malware program but wouldn't do it. Googled the issue and found TDSS killer, tried that and it appeared to be gone in that program, but when ran malware again the virus pops back up and is still present. Still no connectivity.

Please help!

Thank you

Hello and :welcome:

We need to see some information about what is happening in your machine. Please perform the following scan:
  • Download DDS by sUBs from one of the following links. Save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.
  • A small box will open, with an explaination about the tool. No input is needed, the scan is running.
  • Notepad will open with the results.
  • Follow the instructions that pop up for posting the results.
  • Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.
Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run. After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet.

Information on A/V control HERE

Please download Farbar Service Scanner and run it on the computer with the issue.
  • Make sure the following options are checked:
    • Internet Services
    • Windows Firewall
    • System Restore
    • Security Center
    • Windows Update
  • Press "Scan".
  • It will create a log (FSS.txt) in the same directory the tool is run.
  • Please copy and paste the log to your reply.

regards, Elise
