We have created a new user group in order to grant access to uploaded malware samples at our Research Center. Membership of the group is gained by promotion/invitation only, based on recent activities within the malware hunting community at the Malwarebytes forums.
Continued membership will be subject to further reasonable and meaningful contribution at the Research Center.
Membership of the group will be reviewed once a month for new promotions and possible departures.
We at Malwarebytes are not objectionable to these samples being re-distributed to other research groups or even other vendors. Malwarebytes was born from the grassroots of the malware fighting trenches and we are all still committed ultimately to protecting the users of the internet from the malware threats of today.
We request of samples uploaded:
1. That malware samples submitted have been verified to not be detected by our most current database.
2. That the malware samples are no more than 3 months old, having been lifted from a live source URL or harvested from an infected computer.
On a personal note I would like to welcome all new promotions to this group and say lets go kick some malware butt.
Happy hunting!

Hi all,
We have a request of all Malware Hunters group before submitting samples.
Attached is a proprietry tool(Timesaver.exe) that we use inhouse for sorting out viable target malwares. It is designed to remove any non MZ files and all duplicates within a folder from where it is executed.
Please put any samples(s) you are planning on submitting to the Research Center into a custom created folder and then run timesaver.exe inside of that folder only.
Any files removed by Timesaver are stored in a newly created sub folder called "Removed"
Those files we do not need uploading to the Research Center so Timesaver lives up to its name for all of us
**Caution** Do not use Timesaver.exe other then directed above as it could potentially mess up programs or operating systems should you run it in any legitimate folder/location.
Happy hunting!
