This is not a Firefox or SeaMonkey issue but a Youtube problem.

For reading as Bugzilla is not a discussion forum.
Bug 775491 - HTML5 unresponsive script errors on YouTube... http://forums.mozill...?f=38&t=2504165

(Similar to the recent Flash Player/Fx issue -- the problem was/is not with Fx, per se. But because it "breaks" Fx, Fx gets the blame. Analogy: defective tires cause a blow-out and your car crashes. Cause is defective tires, not the car. Just sayin', as I'm neither a fan-girl nor a Mozilla script kiddie. :) )

If the info at the bugzilla page is correct, Google will be pushing out a fix to YT today (or may have already done so).
I guess we will need to tolerate some growing pains with html5 as the "cost" of eventually being free of Flash Player, once and for all.

@ DHL, thanks for the tip about VLC Player. I had forgotten about it after running it on my old Vista box. I might end up taking the plunge again.
