Hi,
I used Malwarebytes for the first time this morning and it showed 1 infection. Under the scanner tab it listed the vendor as PUM.Hijack.Sta... I could not access the full title of this vendor. The category was Registry Data The item: HKEY_CURRENMT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft ??? Could not read it all Other: Bad: (0) Good: (1) No action taken yet.

My question is this, what do I do now? I right clicked on the vendor name and attempted to retrieve more information but could not make heads or tails of what it was showing me. I know I have the option to remove the selected item, but I am unsure if this will take care of this infection completely. Do I need to take any other steps? What exactly is this item and how did I end up with it? Also, when I click go to vendor site, it takes me to the registry editor but yet I can not find anything related to this PUM.Hijack.Sta... not to my knowledge anyway.

I ran this scan because I am concerned as to why I have two processes of iexplore.exe running one using 19mb and the other using 96mb. Both of their paths appear legitimate but I could be mistaken. I am not too savy on viruses/malware/spyware/etc...

Any advice help you can offer will be greatly appreciated as I definitely need it! :)

Thanks in advance,
Nikki

Hi and welcome to Malwarebytes.

Please update MBAM, run a Quick Scan, and post its log.

Next, download DDS by sUBs and save it to your Desktop.

Double-click on the DDS icon and let the scan run. When it has run two logs will be produced, please post only DDS.txt directly into your reply.
