Hi Everyone..I need your help... I cannot run Malwarebytes it says " Run-time error '453':Can't find DLL entry point LanguageSetpath in mbam so I decided to uninstall and start fresh but it won't let me uninstall..! :( It says Runtime Error (at -1:0): Cannot Import dll:C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbam.dll.

How can I fix these and start using Malwarebytes again? Please help?

Thanks,

Rajeev

Greetings :)

Please do the following:

  • Download and run mbam-clean.exe from here
  • It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so very important
  • After the computer restarts, temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here
    • Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent via email if using the Pro version
    • Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates.
Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray if using the Pro version. Now setup any file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications. You may use the guides posted in the FAQ's here or ask and we'll explain how to do it.

If you receive any errors during the above steps, simply click on OK and continue the process.

This worked thank you! Is it going to be a problem that I didn't turn off the anti-virus? I was too scared and it seemed to work ok, malewarebytes is currently scanning!

You're welcome, and no, it shouldn't be an issue that you didn't turn off your antivirus as long as Malwarebytes is now running OK, it should be just fine :).

That process did not work for me. I have a different error message:
Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.
The problem started after the last updating. I have been using MBAM for months and switched to the Pro version 3/24/12. Everything was fine until a few days ago. Immediately after an update, I ran a scan and restarted. Then, I noticed that the desktop icon and the tray icon were missing. I tried everrything I could think of with no joy.
Suggestions?
I really like MBAM and would like to continue using it.
