Please go into the Control Panel, Add/Remove and for now remove ALL versions of JAVA
When we're done you can go back and install the latest version but for now please do not install any.
Then run this tool to help cleanup any left over Java
Your Java is out of date. Older versions have vulnerabilities that malware can use to infect your system.
Please download JavaRa and unzip it to your desktop.
***Please close any instances of Internet Explorer (or other web browser) before continuing!***
Then look for the following Java folders and if found delete them.
C:\Program Files\Java
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Java
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Java
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Sun\Java
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Java
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Sun\Java
You also need to remove Adobe Acrobat Reader 8 and get version 9. Older versions were susceptible to attack from Malware.
Once those are removed run the following.
Please download the following scanning tool. GMER
[indent]
Then a NEW HJT log

I went to Google.com to check so see what comes up when I put in "Microsoft Corporation" in the browser. Moxiesearch.com, tds.seosun.net and spyware-remover.com came up as the web pages for Microsoft official home page.
I tried MSN.com and Yahoo.com with similar results. I also tried other common companies: Dell, Best Buy and Circuit City. The headline looks original but the website they want you to select is anything from rxgenericdrugs.com to myeweb.com.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Was that from IE or Firefox?
Please run the following tool which will help clean and remove remnants of stuff as well as show me some of the other items which may need looking at.
[indent]Please visit this webpage for instructions for downloading ComboFix to your DESKTOP : how-to-use-combofix
Please ensure you read this guide carefully and install the Recovery Console first.
NOTE!!: You must save and run ComboFix.exe on your DESKTOP and not from any other folder.
Also, DO NOT click the mouse or launch any other applications while this is running or it may stall the program
Additional links to download the tool:
ComboFix.exe
ComboFix.exe
ComboFix.exe
Note: The Windows Recovery Console will allow you to boot up into a special recovery (repair) mode. This allows us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware. It is a simple procedure that will only take a few moments of your time.
Once installed, you should see a blue screen prompt that says:
The Recovery Console was successfully installed.

I tried to do some surfing and my problem seems to be fixed. All sites pull up correctly. Computer is working great.
Is it ok to download the latest Adobe Acrobat now? Also, is it ok to keep the tools you've had me download?
Thank you so much for all the help

I tried to do some surfing and my problem seems to be fixed. All sites pull up correctly. Computer is working great.
Is it ok to download the latest Adobe Acrobat now? Also, is it ok to keep the tools you've had me download?
Thank you so much for all the help

No most of those tools are updated frequently and are typically useless or dangerous if not used properly.

2. [indent]To uninstall ComboFix.exe
3. Run this tool.
[indent]Please Download OTMoveIt3 by Old Timer and save it to your Desktop.
When that is done please run the following one more time and if all comes back clean then we'll finish up and update the Adobe and Java and go over a few things.
