WIN7 w SP1 6 GB ram Online Armor Premiun 5.1 & Avira Free 12.01
Installed beta 1.60.1 over existing.
Accepted restart at end of setup.

Here's the "thrilling moments" after sys restart (and it may be due to my not having previously shutdown Win7 in several days ......)
I was given a black screen with a cursor & nothing else (cursor could be moved) and no typical login screen.
Held my breath and patience for a minute or so

Win 7 eventually finished it's startup and normal desktop showed up. Again, pure speculation, the delay might be due to not having done a shutdown yesterday.

MBAM showed the usual prompt for def out of date. Allowed update run. updated ok.
Ran 1 flash scan and 1 quick scan.

Yes, this is normal. Those are temp files created by the installer to replace existing older file versions which are in use on reboot.

Installation went fine on my Win7 Ultimate x64-bit multi-boot 5 partition system (3=ntfs and 2=ext4) system...accepted reboot request which went quick very impressive.

Startup was also quick and impressive. Balloon note for out of date data base (data base older than 7 days) popped up and update was also quick.

Hi everyone,

I'm a new member to this group although I have been using MBAM free for some time.

Have just dowloaded and run the beta version overwriting version 1.6.0.1800. I had problems with this version which would not run and kept on coming up with an error message to the effect that MBAM had encountered a problem and would close, along with 'do you want to send it to M'soft'

The beta has loaded great, updated and runs ok on my box, Win XPHE SP3 but showed the problems PUM. Security Centre which I have now removed.

I did not do any alterations to my settings and can only assume Windows or another programme has changed the setting which prevented MBAM running.

Now seems all OK.

Ray. :D

Welcome to MalwareBytes forum, Ray.

<kibbitz> @ RayM
Just curious as to what firewall is used on your system? and if you have a particular antivirus / security suite?
Encouraging to hear that MBAM is working well for you.
