Is the purchase price a one time, or annual charge?

I found a a file named Malwarebytes Chameleon in my Firefox program folder. Is that a virus or is MalwareBytes just doing it's job?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Hi, floyd22:

The consumer license for MBAM PRO is "lifetime" and may be transferred to another computer. :)
It can only be used on 1 computer at a time, though.
There are, however, discounts for purchasing multiple licenses at the same time (e.g. if you need 1 for your desktop and another for your laptop).

Chameleon is a special tool that is part of the current version of MBAM. :)
It is used to allow MBAM to run on an infected machine when the program will not run normally b/c of the malware.
More information about it can be found in the tutorials in this article.

That file is normal. We use several file names that are known to often be whitelisted (allowed to run) by infections. It's one of many methods that Chameleon uses in order to get Malwarebytes Anti-Malware running when it is blocked from doing so by infections.

Hi, floyd22:

Excellent.
Thanks for the update.

Enjoy your MBAM -- you made a sound choice to purchase the PRO (I am just a happy home user unaffiliated in any way with malwarebytes.org). :)

Please let us know if you need anything else.

Best regards,
