I've had a couple of these pop up with similar messages in support system, not sure I've found the proper solution for it yet tho:

when the program tries to start, I get the "Scan" window, and it's when it asks: "insert the 'Scan' disk and click ok" but, since I don't have any disks, I click cancel 3 or 4 times and the program starts, but then I get what I said on the first post.
Suggestions, solutions?

Just a thought, but it sounds like MBAM is triggering HP printer/scanner software. HP software is notorious for bloat and becoming corrupted (photogallery aka image zone errors).

Could also be that the user has selected an empty drive to scan...

FWIW I have an empty USB flash drive hooked up, and a quick and/or full scan on that drive completes w/out an error.

This is right. I fixed this today by having a customer insert the HP printer CD. I found scan.msi in /setup/scan and then MBAM worked.
