Hi, I downloaded the newest version of MBAM and it will not update. It brings up the screen where it says "Looking for malwarebytes.org", but makes no progress. It doesn't necessarily freeze because I can close it out promptly, and all other facets of the program seem to be fine. I've performed one scan, turning up absolutely no problems. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but to no avail. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance...

I'm not affiliated with MB, but is it possible your firewall is blocking MB access to the net?
I had the same problem initially, and gave MB access, since then it's been fine.

It could be that there is something on your system preventing the update and blocking it.
If you're having Malware related issues with your computer that you're unable to resolve.

We'll ignore Advanced Setup for now, because the fix is usually to open Internet Explorer and make sure that it's not set in Offline Mode.

LOL - Yes it could be. I guess I just see too many infected boxes blocking stuff that I jumped to a conclusion

No problem. That's another common cause. I just like to start with checking that blasted Offline Mode setting before going through anything more complicated.

I'm actually just finishing cleaning some "problems" from my computer with the help of the Spybot forum. The gentleman that helped me had me using MBAM program and recommended that I come here to see if you folks can help with the issue I'm having with it regarding the update. So... it's a setting in IE that I have to change?
