Ok I like others that are new to this need some assistant.I've had AVG for over 8yrs now and never had any problems until this new 8.233 version that by the way removed some services from the free version. At first I thought that my PC was dying (so to speak) a slow death. I know it was slow before the updated version but OMG it barely grawled after the update. I had to uninstall and install at least 3 or 4 times before the program would operate the right way and it still won't let me into the virus vault to clean /empty it. ANYWAY....my lap top started simular reactions. The next day it would not let me online. I took care of that and found malwarebytes and installed the program. it found 1 item. I did the same to my desk top and it found119 items and 2 of them say Trojan.Agent and a lot of them are in the HKEY area. My question is if I hit the removal button will that change any of my programs/files/computer operation to where I would need to back up or restore anything? Some of the names are:
ADWARE minibug,popcap,hotbarcomet,adgent,stareware,coupons,myweb search & trymedia
SPYWARE hotbar & minibug
ROGUE win antivirus & drive cleaner
TROJAN.AGENT in Registry Key- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

Please tell me I can hit the remove selected and I won't lose or have important files deleted. :D

Well I can't tell you that you won't lose something as this dumb Malware keeps getting nastier all the time, but if you don't remove it I can tell you that soon you won't be able to even start the computer up as it progresses.

If you're having Malware related issues with your computer that you're unable to resolve.
  • Please do not post any logs in the General forum. We do not work on any logs posted in the General forum.
  • Please do not install any software or use any removal/scanning tool except for those you're requested to run by the Helper that will assist you.

If you can't even run HijackThis, then just proceed and post a NEW topic as shown in the second link describing your issues and someone will assist you as soon as they can.
