Now, these points of data
make a beautiful line.
And we're out of BETA.
We're releasing on time!

Yup! Simply visit Download.com, download the latest version and install it. You may need to restart your computer for the protection module to install properly so it is highly recommended :).

Do we have to go to Download.com or can I just press update in v1.33? And what's the difference between 1.34 and 1.33?

I had to download version 1.34 (installed over 1.33), the automatic update didn't find it (I only tried once) ; the image says "exclusive" on download.com, this may be the cause. :)

There are many differences, and 1.34 is faster. Here is the changelog, embedded in the setup :

Quote

Version 1.34 (February 11th, 2009)

1. (FIXED) Removing registry keys with corrupt permissions.
2. (FIXED) Removal of drivers now improved.
3. (FIXED) Improved memory usage (more to come!)
4. (FIXED) Certain types of freezing during full scan.
5. (FIXED) Improved full scan times significantly.
6. (ADDED) Better detection techniques for the real-time protection module.
7. (ADDED) Directories now counted as items scanned.
8. (ADDED) Disinfection for certain USB spread infections (Conficker).
9. (ADDED) New command line parameter: /schedule (see help file).

Did they fix the freezing issues?

And do I have to uninstall v1.33 before installing 1.34? The setup file is sitting on my Downloads folder.

I didn't.. but after you install it will ask you to re-boot! (then check for updates)

What was the reason for this? Previous versions did not ask for a reboot.

As far as I know, the last few version have required a reboot after installing. It's just to make sure everything relating to the protection module and the drivers get registered correctly.

How about these:

MajorGeeks
SecurityWonks
GT500.org

They are official and should be the same as the one from Download.com

I'm not sure why the ones on the other two sites would be any different, but both BleepingComputer and BestTechie are trustworthy sites and quite well known in the security community for having a good reputation.

The owners of the other two sites:

Bleeping Computer: Malwarebytes member profile > Experts

I think you'll find they're not "QUESTIONABLE SITES" B)
