On Friday night my 2 year old computer whilst playing a game sort of made a bang (it sounded like a bang but might not have been) and then the fans started to sound like a vacuum because they was going faster in order to keep the computer cool however a minute later the computer shut down and everytime to turn it on the fans kick in fast to keep it from overheating and the computer stays on for about 5 minutes roughly before shutting down again.
Once it shuts down if you give it a minute and turn it on you hear what appears to be a warning sound then an error on screen saying 'Warning: Processor Thermal Trip' then loads but of course, after a few minutes it shuts back down because of an overheat.
I've given it a good dusting but did nothing so I went out and bought a new fan, power supply with a better fan intergrated and thermal paste fitted them but still no luck and not quite sure what to do as it can't be the processor as it would load the computer at all.
I've emailed Intel and Advent (the computer manufacturer) to see if they might know the problem or if they've even heard of this before, but no reply as of yet. I think it might be the motherboard but i'm not a computer tech or really know much about computers when it comes to hardware so wouldn't know where to look for one which will suite my computer which is a Intel Q8200 with DDR2 memory but are nearly all DDR3 now
I'm really out of idea's as I don't know what to do or try next.
All kinds of help is kindly appreciated
Thanks
