Remove License before Reformatting

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Technically, no, AFAIK it ought not to be necessary to run mbam-clean before a reformat, as the license data will be wiped when you reformat.

But I suppose it wouldn't hurt.

(AFAIK I don't think mbam-clean contacts the server, it just wipes all the application data.)

Either way, just make sure you have the license ID and key handy before you start the process.

It will be in a confirmation email from Cleverbridge, if you purchased online, or in the box if you purchased a CD.

(If you don't have either of those, let us know, and we can tell you where to retrieve the info from the registry before you reformat.)

After you reinstall/patch Windows, and reinstall/update/configure your Anti-Virus, then download a fresh copy of the MBAM installer from >>THIS LINK<< and use the same license ID and key to register it.

More info here: KB - download and installation and here: KB - How do I obtain my license key?

HTH,
