Does Malwarebytes removal of this bot clean the Word .exe file or delete the .exe? It was the only issue found during the scan and rather than tell my client to remove it I'd check first. Better safe than sorry I always say. Thanks.

Malwarebytes does not clean files. If it is a BOT file then it has no use and should be deleted. If it's an actual valid file that has been infected then you would need to use a full Anti-Virus package to attempt to clean it.

MBAM will either mark or delete files and not clean them. Some files it will say it has removed, but really has not and is used as a marker for Helpers to know that it is a CRITICAL system file that should not be removed or the system will fail to reboot and needs other work to correct it.

I hope this answers your question. If not please let me know.
