when my computer sits it goes asleep when i click on the space bar or hit the mouse it goes to a black page for 2-3 seconds then it appears my home page or what ever i'm on.it never did this before its been happening now for a coule weeks. i have a screen saver and i checked all the settings are correct. any ideas

and i used to have a glowing design that would keep going while the computer would sit and i would always be able to see it. now it doesnt move around anymore and its all black

Try doing some maintenance on the PC. Run CCleaner thoroughly. Then defragment the PC. Restart it if it hasn't been restarted in a few days. Then double check and triple check the Screensaver/power settings.

I would try switching out monitors. Don't buy one, see if you can find one to use just to check it. This also may be your graphics card going bad. Only one way to tell is to run a diagnostics check on your system first and then you may be able to narrow down the problem.. I would check with the manufacture for a diagnostics utility.
