[chimpy]

windows defender says i have a trojan called Trojan.Win32.Qhost (Kaspersky), Qhosts.apd (McAfee)
I tryed to do a manual fix on this in "run" but it states notepad C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts does not exsist, hijack this said that there was something blocking the hosts when i launched it from there website, but ive downloads it and ran as admin and that pop up didnt happen this time

how does this log look and are the hosts blocked?

Apparently what defender found is not a trojan but a mistake on defenders part, but I would still like a opinion on the log as theres a file there that I can see that says "O2 - BHO: WormRadar.com IESiteBlocker.NavFilter - {3CA2F312-6F6E-4B53-A66E-4E65E497C8C0} - C:\Program Files\AVG\AVG8\avgssie.dll"

Is that ok?
Is there anything bad in the log?

Please upload the file to Jotti's and have them scan it.

Then try an online Kaspersky scan as a secondary scanner.

Run Kaspersky Online AV Scanner
Using Internet Explorer Go to http://www.kaspersky.com/kos/eng/partner/d...kavwebscan.html and click the Accept button at the end of the page.

Note for Internet Explorer 7 users: If at any time you have trouble with the accept button of the licence, click on the Zoom tool located at the right bottom of the IE window and set the zoom to 75 %. Once the license accepted, reset to 100%.

• Read the Requirements and limitations before you click Accept.
  
• Allow the ActiveX download if necessary.
  
• Once the database has downloaded, click Next.
  
• Click Scan Settings and change the "Scan using the following antivirus database" from standard to extended and then click OK.
  
• Click on "My Computer" and then put the kettle on!
  
• When the scan has completed, click Save Report As...
  
• Enter a name for the file in the Filename: text box and then click the down arrow to the right of Save as type: and select text file (*.txt)
  
• Click Save - by default the file will be saved to your Desktop, but you can change this if you wish.

Copy and paste the report into your next reply along with a fresh HJT log and a description of how your PC is behaving.

I dont know if I did this right but I uploaded the hijack this log I posted here to jotti, is that the file that you meant? it found nothing.
I am about to use the online Kaspersky now.

I have just finished the online kaspersky scan, There was no option in the settings to scan extended so I choose to scan the computer and the critical from the four options (files and folders i presume would also be scanned in the computer scan please tell me if this is wrong)
It found nothing and my computer has been and still is working fine, though has been making more noise I think in the past few weeks.

Then run the Kaspersky online scan and post back that log please and let me know what Jotti says about that file.

Scanned that one file with jotti and it found nothing, scanned the file with kaspersky which took a second and that found nothing too.
I did this as as I had already scanned my computer with kaspersky before and it found nothing, in the instructions you posted "Click Scan Settings and change the "Scan using the following antivirus database" from standard to extended and then click OK." you cant do that in scan settings, you can just choose to tick a few boxs that you might not want it to scan for, I let it scan for everything.
As it found nothing there was no report to post.

Is that file ok? is it something from AVG? I only noticed it on the HJT log as it had the words "WormRadar.com IESiteBlocker.NavFilter" next to it and this worried me.

That is probably the name inside the file from AVG. With no scanners finding anything you would appear to be clean.
