Hi,
I was infected with ntdl64 and what a mess that caused. The only way I got rid of it was with Malwarebytes. Thank you very much for this! But now when the scan runs it shows Trogan FakeAlert is still in the registry. I delete it, scan again and it reads it is still there. I cannot find it manually and everything is working fine. It doesn't show up anywhere else. Just through a Malwarebyte scan. Is this what you call a false positive or is there a deeper problem I need to fix? Below is what the log says about it. Thanks for your help!

I moved this thread to the HijackThisforum..
I don't think this is a false positive. I rather think that a 3rd party scanner (Teatimer, Adwatch etc..) is preventing the value to be removed, it just restores it again.

* Download Trend Micro Hijack This™
Doubleclick the HJTInstall.exe to start it.
By default it will install HijackThis in the Program Files\Trendmicro folder and create a desktop shortcut.
HijackThis will open after install. Press the Scan button below.
This will start the scan and open a log.
Copy and paste the contents of the log in your next reply.

Then we'll see what is causing this and what else may still be present there..

Hi,

As I thought..

You have Teatimer enabled.

I suggest you to disable it because it can interfere with the changes you'll make on your system.
When everything is done and your log is clean again, you can enable it again.
If teatimer gives you a warning afterwards that some changes were made, allow this instead of blocking it.
How to disable TeaTimer <== click me for instructions.

Once you disabled Teatimer, REBOOT your computer (in order to clear up the runonce entries)

Then, update Malwarebytes (Update tab > check for updates)
Let it update and let it perform a full scan and quarantine everything it is finding.

Reboot once again and then rescan with HijackThis and post the log in your next reply together with latest Mbam log.

Extra notes, I see you have the Video Download Toolbar installed. Not sure if you're aware of this, but according to the privacy policy, it's adware supported. So imho, I would uninstall it.

The same applies for the 3D Community Toolbar. This is a conduit toolbar. Some Conduit toolbars are reputed to have a certain adware/trackware functionality.
