AliceZ brought this up in a different thread and I figured it could use its own in case others have started experiencing this issue.
After a quick scan completes, I view the items it detected, and in this case, I chose to ignore them.
I then go to close MBAM and receive a pop-up window:
"A scan is in progress. Are you sure you want to close Malware Bytes Anti-Malware?"
I click yes and the program closes normally.
I thought it might be something with the MBAM active protection, so I did the following:
Uninstalled MBAM - reboot
Ran MBAMclean.exe - reboot
Installed MBAM - reboot
This time, I didn't enter my registration key and thus there is no Active Protection nor the MBAM service.
Ran another quick scan and received the same error.
I'm running the latest build of MBAM with the latest defs.

This is a feature, not a bug. I've mentioned to Marcin that it's a bit confusing to some people, but I don't think he was paying attention.

Let me say I have the same query as well. I am using a free version so does not have the protection module.
It happened the same as above.
I do not understand how that is a feature either.

Yea, it's a nit confusing. If I ever notice Marcin at his computer, then I will try to talk to him about this again.
