old install stopped working, new install also dead

just downloaded V1.34 as my old version stopped working as of this morning . It does not even boot up, just get an error message from Vista that it has "stopped working and vista will notify you if a solution is found".
New download also does not boot up. I noticed that Norton has 3 times this am given me notice that it has detected and removed "packed.generic.2000"
but apparently it is still there.
Since Malwarebytes will not start up, I cannot give you any logs.

Any suggestions appreciated. thank you.

Malwarebytes has stopped working for me, so I downloaded the newest version V1.34 and installed it after uninstalling the old application. The new version will not start either.
A friend told me to rename the malwarebytes exe to checker.exe and run it in safe mode from desktop. I did this and it booted and ran fine. Came up with 6 trojans/trojans dns changers...
but malwarebytes still wouild not exe in normal mode after rebooting the pc, so I ran a 2nd scan in safe mode.
The 2nd scan came up clean, but Malwarebytes.exe still will not start in normal mode.

I have been plagued all day today with Norton telling me it has detected and removed Packed.generic.2000, but almost every time I log on to internet explorer, Norton finds that damed file again, so obviously it is NOT removing it. Stilll there right now after 2 scans also.

Looking at those Ukranian name servers I would suggest that you post your HJT log in the appropriate forum
