Hi
I've just finished cleaning my computer up from a recent infection but I cannot seem to get rid of a couple things My taskmanager and regedit have been hijacked however I am able to access them immediately after I select fix checked on this on my hjt log
O7 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System, DisableRegedit=1 after accessing the regedit Ive even went in and tried deleting the disable registry tools and disable taskmanager files under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
but it keeps coming back!! Maybe there are more files somewhere else hiding, or maybe I'm doing something wrong. I've ran Mbam, and the hijack.regedit and hijack.taskmgr show up everytime Ive also ran super anti spyware. Also I am not able to restart my computer into safemode for some reason?? I appreciate any help you can give me, I hope I explained this well enough. Here is my hjt log

Hi,

From what I can see here is - You're unfortunately dealing with Sality.
The presence of the random files running from temp already reveals it + the fact that the policies stay active.
This is a description of what Sality is: http://www.eset.sk/b...p?page_id=20616 (one of its variants explained).
Not being able to boot into safe mod (safeboot keys are deleted) + not being able to run an AV, hence, even install one is one of the results of this infection.
But the most worrying part is this:

Win32/Sality is a polymorphic file infector. The virus searches local and network drives for files with one of the following extensions:

.exe

Files are infected by adding a new section that contains the virus. The host file is modified in a way that causes the virus to be executed prior to running the original code.

and latest variant is even worse since it's doing almost exactly the same as Virut now: http://pandalabs.pandasecurity.com/archive...-old-times.aspx
This means, it doesn't only infect legitimate exe files, but also html, htm, asp and php files.

In anyway, when there are File infectors involved, especially Sality and Virut, I suggest a format and reinstall asap.
It's a lost case anyway unfortunately...

So, I suggest you to start backup all of your valuable data/documents/pictures/movies/songs/etc.. Do NOT backup any applications/installers and Do NOT backup any .exe/.scr/.htm/.html/.xml/.zip/.rar files...
This because these files may be infected as well. If you back them up and replace them afterwards, it will infect your computer again.

well thats not the news I wanted to here but I guess if there is no other sollution then that's what I have too do. Thanks for your help if theres any other possible solution or if you have any other suggestions I would appreciate them to make sure this does not happen again.
