Hi there,
I've been battling against this problem for two days now and I'm not sure what else I can do.

This problem is on a laptop in work. When I use either IE or Firefox and go to google to search for something, i click on the link in the search results page and when the site tries to load, i get redirected to another site (usually, uh, adult stuff..). If I click BACK in the browser, it brings me to the site i originally wanted to visit.

So far, I have run Ccleaner, Spybot, Ad-Aware, Microsoft's own Malware finder, Avast, Spywareblaster, Malbytes Malware and am currently running SuperAntispyware.

Apart from Malbytes, none of the spyware progs found anything. I ran the online Trend Housecall but after 5 hours it crashed. It found four infections before it crashed, though.

Today, Malbytes found 14 infections, all of which it cleaned. Once it finished, i shut off system restore, booted into Safe Mode and ran Malbytes again. It found nothing so I restarted in normal mode, ran Ccleaner again to get rid of everything, turned system restore back on and lo and behold, I still get redirected.

Yesterday, I ran hijack this and used that website (hijackthis.de) to analyse it. It found a couple of things, mostly pertaing to online gambling stuff (I knew that had been installed months ago but hasn't been used for a long time). I got rid of those and ran it again today. The website says everything's safe but maybe you guys can find something.

Just to update - SuperAntispywre only found a couple of cookies and two exe's from the gambling software. I've uninstalled all the gambling stuff and am running Kaspersky's AntiVirus 2009 boot cd now.

Hi,

Since you've posted extra replies in your thread, you had to wait longer, this because we always look at logs with 0 replies first. If there are more replies, then we assume that someone is already helping you, so we skip the thread and help in another thread instead.

Anyway, your Malwarebytes version is outdated + the database is outdated as well. It's always important that you scan with latest versions, so * Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here or Here

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

• Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  
• If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  
• In case you already used MBAM previously, please update it before proceeding with the scan. To do this, click the "Update" tab and click the "Check For updates" button.
  
• Once the program has loaded and updates were downloaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  
• The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  
• When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  
• Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  
• When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
  
• The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  
• Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply along with a fresh HijackThis log.

Extra Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove,you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts,click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer,please do so immediatly.
