Baby-sitting a scan?

Is it necessary for me to baby-sit while MBAM scans a computer?

It seems like it stops and asks me what to do when it finds something bad. If that is true, is there any way I can tell it to just keep scanning and ask me what to do when it's completed the scan?

Thanks.

It should just keep scanning and ask you what to do when the scan is over.

Do you get an error like this when you try to close the program? It seems like a bug.

/quickscanterminate: allows you to run a quick scan. Program terminates if no items found.
/fullscanterminate: allows you to run a full scan. Program terminates if no items found.

Currently the Home User version does not support a scan and remove or quarantine that I'm aware of if an infection is found. The user would then need to take action.

I think he is saying the program asks him before it has even completed the scan. This does not happen until the end. Maybe it's his misunderstanding some message, or maybe he got the message like I did, saying that Malwarebytes was in the middle of a scan even though (I think) it was done. Either this is a bug because the scanner does not finish, or (I believe) a bug because it falsely reports the scan is not finished if you try to quit after taking some action on an item.

phj42, why do you think the scan has not completed? Are you getting that pop-up message when you try to exit? Or do you still see files scanned/total listed and it has obviously not scanned them all?

The only way I could see MBAM popping up alerts would be if the protection module was running and it detected something, then it asks for input, but not the on-demand scanner, it waits until the scan is finished to ask you to deal with the detected infections.

Actually. I was confused. There was something else running in the background and I did not read its messages as carefully as I should.

MBAM works just the way you said and the way I thought it should.

Thanks for your help and apologies for the misunderstanding.
