I have installed Malwarebytes on a pc and during the install or running process, I get this
vbAccelerator SGrid II Control:
Run-time error "0". Then I click OK and get:
Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
Run-time error '440'
Automation error.
Does this have to do with my video card other hardware, or an infection. I see other posts about the above and it seems that it is treated as an infection, but:
this pc was rebuilt using the xp disks, I deleted and recreated partitions and did full format, so I thought I would have removed the trojans if there were any.
I get random freezes in IE and also in other applications like word processor. Is this hardware problem?
safemode, pc runs fine, no lockups and malware runs fine in quick scan, finding no infections.
this is a Compaq Presario S4000V-P8656E Desktop PC
(this error also occured when I First got it running xp, now running fresh xp and getting same error)
Thanks
Lit

Greetings.
Please give this a try:
Make sure you are logged on as an administrator
If you see any error messages please make a note of them and let me know, if it says that each was successful then try running the program again to see if it works.
Please give this a try:
Make sure you are logged on as an administrator
- Click on Start and select Run
- Type "CMD" without the quotes and press Enter
- Copy and paste each of the following lines into the black command prompt window exactly as written including quotes individually and press Enter after each one:
regsvr32 "%progfiles%\Malwarebytes' Anti-malware\vbalsgrid6.ocx" regsvr32 "%progfiles%\Malwarebytes' Anti-malware\ssubtmr6.dll" regsvr32 "%progfiles%\Malwarebytes' Anti-malware\mbamext.dll"

I doubt it's a virus since you formatted, but something is odd. Did you happen to get a bluescreen or did you force the reboot because the PC froze?
By the way, what anti-virus are you running? Is it Norton (Symantec)?
