I'm using XP Home SP3 on a Dell computer and have a problem with Internet Explorer which insists on defaulting to page http://go.microsoft....k/?LinkId=74005 despite my default settings of my ISP's home page http://express.rogers.yahoo.com/ I,m using IE7 anmd have reset IE.

I did have a spyware issue but have run Malwarebytes & Superantispyware and have gotten rid of about 83 infections. Have run them again and all clean.

The only prolem now is a slow computer (have already done a cleanup and defragmented) and the issue of IE always defaulting to that non-existent MSFT page.

Can anyone advise please?

Hi,

Resetting IE does set the homepage to o.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=74005
So if you want to set it to express.rogers.yahoo.com/ again, you have to manually change it in the IE options.
Make sure that your McAfee doesn't block that change.
