Could someone please help me by looking to see what I am having problems with. I can't get on ebay and hotmail always tells me I used the wrong password the first time.

Hi,

I notice from your log that there's more than 1 Antivirus installed. Avira and NOD32
Never install more than one Antivirus and Firewall! Rather than giving you extra protection, it will decrease the reliability of it seriously!
The reason for this is that if both products have their automatic (Real-Time) protection switched on, your system may lock up due to both software products attempting to access the same file at the same time.
Also because more than one Antivirus and Firewall installed are not compatible with eachother, it can cause system performance problems and a serious system slowdown.

So you have to make a decision here and keep the Antivirus you prefer and uninstall the other one.
Then reboot after uninstalling.

As a matter of fact, the problem you are describing doesn't look like a malware related problem, but most probably a problem with your Security scanners.

Here is the latest Hijack this log. I took out the proxy that I did not put in and I also deleted one of the antivirus programs. The AV program was not installed until just before the other log file. I was trying to find something that my Nod missed. When I go to ebay now I get to the main page and can click on any of the categories there. When I get into the categories, if I click on individual items I get a screen that says it can not display the page. This is more than I use to get but if I sign on with my laptop, it all works just fine. When I go to hotmail, it asks for my password and when I put it in it tells me it is incorrect. I can put it in again and it goes into my mail account.

Hi,

Your problem is not malware related. I suspect NOD32 is the cause here. The only way to figure out is to temporary uninstall (disabling won't work, it should be uninstalled) NOD32 and see if that solves your problem.

Ok, since you're having this in IE... let's disable some add-ons first as they may cause this as well..

To run Internet Explorer 7 without Add-ons, rightclick the IE7 icon present on your desktop and select: "Start without Add-ons"



In case that option is not present there, go to start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer (No Add-ons)



This will start Internet Explorer 7 in the No-Add ons mode. This means that toolbars and Browser Helper Objects will be disabled.
So if your problem is solved when you use the No-Add on mode, this means that one of your Add ons is causing this.
Let me know if your problem is solved in the No-Add on mode.

no that did not stop the problem. I am also having the problem in Opera so I am sure it is most likely a program that was added. I am going to try to go back through my notes and see when it started. I then want to see what has been added. thanks again

If you're having it in other browsers too, then it's indeed caused by a 3rd party application.
That's why I suspected NOD32 in the first place because I know it may cause this. Still unsure if you have it properly uninstalled to troubleshoot, because many just disable instead which won't make a difference ofcourse.
