Hi. I'm posing this question as a small business (about 10 workstations), with web access on each machine, and a Windows SBS 2003 server with Exchange server to manage our emails. In the past we've used a corporate-licenced AVG but there's been a few occasions when viruses and/or malware have gotten onto workstations, and a standalone copy of Malwarebytes has been needed to clean them up.
Now that the AVG licence has expired, I'm thinking of a corporate purchase of Malwarebytes instead. But given that the highest risk is from nasty email attachments, my question is how early-on it will intercept the malware or virus. For example, will an attachment only be stopped when a user tries to run it from their copy of Outlook? Or will Malwarebytes, say, running on the server, be able to trap these on the way into the organisation (e.g. when email arrives via the scheduled POP3 connection)?

1) Our software is not anti-virus, and you should never be without a full anti-virus software. We recommend Avira for anti-virus protection.
2) The "Protection Module" in our pro version only prevents malware from installing. It will not scan e-mails/attachments/etc. Some changes to the way it works will be in 1.37, but I do not know the extent of those changes, and I doubt they will involve e-mail.
