Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware is currently not fully 64-bit compatible on any operating system. This is displayed in our 'Key Features' section on the following page(we cannot control content on any websites but our own):
Support for Windows 2000, XP, and Vista (32-bit only).
http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

The protection module component will not function properly, meaning there will be no 'live' protection against drive-by downloads, however the scheduled scanning and scheduled updating will as well as malware detection and removal will perform normally

64 bit development is into limited beta testing with certain members of our forums. We hope to release a version soon, perhaps within the month, but cannot specifically say when.

Contact the helpdesk at the email below and we'll get your refund working:
helpdesk@malwarebytes.org

Please include your Cleverbridge order number.

yeah. I already know this.. why are you telling me stuff i already know ?...
my question was WHY it dosent work.. also you say nothing about making it compatable with 64 bit in the future, i did research, over 35 percent of vista users are 64 bit now.. and rising.. still, you sit on your ass and do nothing... great.
uttery usless answer thanks for nothing !

He just said a 64 bit version is in the works. As far as WHY it doesn't work, it's simple, the same reason there are seperate downloads for most drivers and security software for 64 bit and 32 bit versions of Windows, the Kernel. It works differently, especially in 64 bit Vista and the protection module, including it's driver, are currently not 64 bit compatible but a version that is compatible is in beta testing now, as he said. Contact them as he said and you'll have your refund.

Didn't quite get across what you DID know as all you did was ask 2 questions (one which was rhetorical and sarchastic) and make a demand for a refund, not very informative as far as explaining what you already know. I don't think TeMerc is a mind reader, at least last time I checked so expecting him to have advanced knowlege of what information you already have without you stating anything about what that knowlege is seems a bit outlandish, to me at least.

I'm going to ignore the insults because I understand your frustration being a 64 bit user myself, but the fact of the matter is up until the last few months over 90% of the systems out there were all running 32 bit OS's, only recently due to more robust chipsets and falling prices of ram, not to mention a wider availability of compatible drivers and software has the number of 64 bit systems increased. That is a Fact. The developers have been working on a 64 bit compatible version for a while now, but you must also understand that Malwarebytes' is a relatively small company with few programmers so a great deal of their time goes into simply tracking the newest threats and adding detection and removal of them to MBAM's database. I think the timing is appropriate considering the fact that for the first time more users are starting to use x64. You and I are early adopters of a technology that, although it has in fact been around for several years (primarily starting with XP 64 in the Windows world), it wasn't widely available to the end user until Vista and in Vista's first year the majority of OEM's and users alike refused to install it due to the fact that many drivers and softwares still remained incompatible with it. Service Pack 1 helped a lot when Microsoft opened things up a bit, but there are still limits and the workings of the protection module for Malwarebytes' had to be completely rewritten from the ground up to allow it to function in a 64 bit environment. As far as proving you wrong about the availability of 64 bit systems, I can't, because you're absolutely right, but they weren't (and still aren't) very widely used, but I do admit the number is increasing over time and Malwarebytes' is adapting their software accordingly, especially now that their software has gained much in popularity recently due to its effectiveness in detecting and removing malware that most other vendors fail to.

Keep in mind, I just posted this for the sake of providing some info and insight, not to persuade you not to seek a refund as you seem pretty dead set on that and seem to be pursuing an argument, perhaps because you need to vent your frustrations. I'm not going to try and argue with you because I have better things to do with my time and I'm sure you do as well.

Good luck and safe surfing

No, that's not correct: it's no "apology", as none is called for, but an explanation, which you're obviously either unable to understand, or unwilling to accept.

You could opt to wait for the 64-bit compatible version which most definitely is in the works OR accept the refund that graciously has been offered to you.

I honestly don't see how you could ask for more.

Good luck!
