Morning!

I am a new and Excited member of the Malwarebytes.org forum and simply Love the MB application which has already helped me to clean up a neighbor's computer which was SO overrun with rogueware that it even adversely affected Safe Mode. Not only will I soon purchase MB but I will also become an Affiliate!

I am NOT a trained computer technician but with the right tools I seem to have the (intuitive) knack for spyware removal. However, I do need assistance with this: HijackThis recently took out my laptop's keyboard and touchpad. When I installed it; It then asked that I reboot which I did. After the reboot Not only was said functions taken out but Safe Mode disappeared (until I used a Vista recovery cd which restored it).

I now use an external mouse and the on-screen keyboard to type text which is laborious!

Any ideas as to what I can do to Restore the above-mentioned functions (I don't think it's a hardware problem as the "Enter" and the Up and Down keys in Safe Mode).

Hi there, What kind of laptop is this? Have you tried to go on the manufactures website to look for touchpad drivers? Also try doing the windows updates and look into the hardware updates, that usually installs missing devices if detected. Good luck!

Also. In my previous post (May 5, 2009) I incorrectly stated that I had a problem with HiJack This!
