Just wondering if the free on-demand version of MBAM runs any services or drivers by default in Vista?
Just installed Superantispyware as well and it starts up 3 drivers even when the program isn't being used.

Greetings
Nope, MBAM doesn't add any startups or drivers that run on boot with the single exception of the right-click "Scan with Malwarebytes'" context menu item. SAS (SUPERAntiSpyware) loads several drivers at boot because it needs them to be running to utilize certain features of the program such as advanced detection of hidden trojans and rootkits etc. MBAM loads its driver only when you actually start the program and run a scan to be able to detect the hidden nasties. If you'd like to see the full list of what is added to the startups by SAS and other programs you can use Microsoft Sysinternals Autoruns
