auto update is only once a day!!! how to make it more frequent?

I'm assuming you're running a paid version. You can send an email to support@malwarebytes.org and they should be able to assist you with further configuration.

every time the updates are nearly 2 MB.
Is the database loaded completely, every time an update is applied?

Yes it does, that's about the right size. A LOT better than a Symantec AV update. A small pattern update that modifies current files is about 5MB if it fails which it can at times then you need the FULL which is almost 50MB now.
