has anyone encountered this problem? I installed an older version of malware but something is preventing the program from even loading. I get nothing! I downloaded the newest version to see if that was the problem, but the setup wont even load for that! Just does nothing....
I have windows 7 on another partition so I installed the newest version on that and I am going to run a full scan to see if it finds the bug on my windows xp partition.
I know I do have bugs on my xp partition because of internet explorer going to bogus sites in search engines when I click on legit links. Either that or the bug is providing bogus links. I guess we will find out tomorrow morning when I check the computer after a full scan.
If nothing, does anyone think its possible there is a bug directly targeting malware programs? All other applications load and work perfectly as before. Just malware and malware setup programs.

I had the pleasure of cleaning my employers computer up today so he can go get another bug. mbam would not load nor spybot. I read on this forum that renaming the mbam.exe to another name, I used test as was used in the post I read and the program worked great and it killed the bugs. Found a rootkit that was causing malwarebytes and spybot to not run and also was allowing commercials to stream in from the web. Most annoying. Thank you all for the advice and I hope this helps.
