Can't remove "Secure AntiVirus Pro" and more?

Hello
I am new to posting, so my apologies in advance for any improper etiquette. My kids’ computer is infected. Not sure how? My guess would be my kids! At a minimum, I know it has "Secure AntiVirus Pro" and AV.exe(?), and I can't seem to get rid of them. At the time, it had both Malwarebytes and Symantec Antivirus, but perhaps not updated. I have researched and read on the internet and have tried a few different things. Nothing has worked. I can NOT update Symantec Antivirus or Malwarebytes through the internet as these and many others sites appear to be blocked ("Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"). I was able to download mbam-rules.exe on another machine and changed the file name (I read this somewhere) and it appears to have updated Malwarebytes, but still no luck as the log shows nothing infected, but I see the "Secure AntiVirus Pro" in the notification area, as well as constant pop-ups saying "Your computer can be infected..."
Other strange happenings are:
1) HPQNRS08.EXE (name changes every time) and AUTORUN.INF automatically load onto a USB flash drive upon insertion into the infected computer. I can (and do) delete them before removing.
2) Can't "Restart" or "Turn Off" from Start-Turn Off Computer. Need to Start-Log Off-Switch User to get back to Windows XP log on screen.
3) Upon restart, pop-up boxes "dsca.exe - Application Error" (click ok to terminate) and then "hpqthb08.exe - Application Error" (click ok to terminate) appear.
What to do? Malwarebytes and HijackThis logs follow.

Your version of MBAM is a bit old. Please update and scan again.

STEP 01
Update and Scan with Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  • Start MalwareBytes AntiMalware (Vista users must Right click and choose RunAs Admin)
  • Please DO NOT run MBAM in Safe Mode unless requested to, you MUST run it in normal Windows mode.
    • Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
    • Select the Update tab
    • Click Update
  • When the update is complete, select the Scanner tab
  • Select Perform quick scan, then click Scan.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When completed, a log will open in Notepad. please copy and paste the log into your next reply
    • If you accidently close it, the log file is saved here and will be named like this:
    • C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs\mbam-log-date (time).txt
Then post back the MBAM log and a new Hijackthis log.

STEP 02
[indent]Download DDS and save it to your desktop
http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/dds.scr

Disable any script blocker if your Anti-Virus/Anti-Malware has it.
Once downloaded you can disconnect from the Internet and disable your Ant-Virus temporarily if needed.
Then double click dds.scr to run the tool.
When done, the DDS.txt will open.
Click Yes at the next prompt for Optional Scan.
    When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:
    • DDS.txt
    • Attach.txt
  • Save both reports to your desktop
  • Please include the following logs in your next reply: DDS.txt and Attach.txt

Hi Again
I can't update Malwarebytes through the program (I had to manually downloaded mbam-rules.exe). This is part my problem. When I attempt to update, I get the following message: "Update Failed. Make sure you are connected to the internet and your firewall is set to allow Malwarebytes Anti-Malware to access the internet." I am connected to the internet, because I can go to other sites. I have XP and have not changed the firewall settings. How can I check this? Honestly, I have this same issue (not able to access a specific site) with my Symantec AntiVirus as well as other sites. Should I continue with DDS?
