I hope this is not answered elsewhere...I'm a new poster but I did look for this in the forums first...
I've had a recurring problem where the 'Task Manager' function (when you right-click the taskbar or ctrl-alt-del) becomes disabled. It's an easy problem to fix; Malwarebytes (free version) detects it as a registry issue and fixes it and there is also a free program called TaskManagerFix.exe that also does the trick - but it's annoying to deal with. I'll fix it, then two days later it's back.
My question is, if I upgrade to Pro edition, will Malwarebytes' real-time protection prevent this from happening? It's not clear to me from the information on the website if the real-time protection includes registry protection of this sort.
Thanks!

Hi,
Malwarebytes' will stop such changes occuring if a known malicious process is attempting to make them.
You can get help cleaning up the malware that is disabling your task manager by following these steps:
Scan and post logs - read note at bottom in green
If you're having Malware related issues with your computer that you're unable to resolve.

If you're having Malware related issues with your computer that you're unable to resolve.
- Please read and follow the instructions provided here: I'm infected - What do I do now?
- If needed please post your logs in a NEW topic here: Malware Removal - HijackThis Logs
- When posting logs please do not use any Quote, Code, or other tags. Please copy/paste directly into your post and do not attach files unless requested.
- Please do not post any logs in the General forum. We do not work on any logs posted in the General forum.
- Please do not install any software or use any removal/scanning tool except for those you're requested to run by the Helper that will assist you.
- Using these other tools often makes the cleanup task more difficult and time consuming.
- If you have already submitted for assistance at one of the other support sites on the Internet then you should not post a new log here, you should stay working with the Helper from that site until the issue is resolved.
- Do not assume you're clean because you don't see something in the logs. Please wait until the person assisting you provides feedback.
- There are often many others that require asistance as well, so please be patient. If no one has responded within 48 hours then please go ahead and post a request for review
- NOTE: If for some reason you're unable to run some or any of the tools in the first link, then skip that step and move on to the next one. If you can't even run HijackThis, then just proceed and post a NEW topic as shown in the second link describing your issues and someone will assist you as soon as they can.
Kind Regards,
Baz.

Often corporate environments set these policies by design. If this is the case we will not override them.

No, it's a home computer...whatever does it, Malwarebytes Free has been able to detect and correct the registry change...I just wasn't sure if the paid full version would be able to stop it from happening in the first place. It's not a big issue, mainly an annoyance, but if the paid version can stop it from happening it will be worth the upgrade price for me.
It's odd to me that I run Avast!, SpyBot and Threatfire, and none of those detect when this happens even though they are supposedly protecting/running in real time.

Almost guaranteed that SpyBot Tea Timer is the cause of it coming back. Basically it probably has that entry set as allowed, then MBAM or other changes it and SpyBot Tea Timer on reboot or next view see the change and puts it back.

I hadn't thought of that possibility, but I checked and I am not running Tea-Timer...the only function I have set in SpyBot is the SD Helper function.
I'm not convinced that SpyBot and ThreatFire are all they're cracked up to be; I've had Avast! alert me to Trojan attacks and such, but never had a peep out of Threatfire. SpyBot I guess is supposed to block certain attackes silently, so maybe it's doing what it's supposed to.
