Hello. This is my first post to this forum. I downloaded and installed your free version today. The download and install went well. I bought a new computer with Vista 64 bit 2 months ago. I use Trend Micro Internet Security as my AV. I have been revewing security forums for the last month or so to find a good backup malware remover. I have used sas in the past but your program seems to be the most popular in the other forums, such as the Dell support forums and my bleeping comput er forum. To make a long story shorter I ran your program and it found one item. In the registry data items , it found Hijack.startmenu? I don't know what this is but I let the program do its thing. I then rebooted and it removed and put the item in quarantine. Can I delete this item from quarantine or should I leave it there? I need to learn to trust your program. Do all deleated items go to quarantine first like in SAS? Thank you for your time. PS. Can this item be recovered if needed? The log says it was quarantined and deleated.

All deleted items go to the quarantine, and can be recovered if needed.
If you are certain that the detection was not a false positive, and you don't notice anything wrong after removal, then you can delete the item from the quarantine.

Thank you GT500. Is it wise to hang on to items like this for a few weeks?

the_senator,
If you are unsure of the item that MBAM quarantined, it would probably be wise to keep it around for awhile to make sure no problems result from it. In your case, the Hijack.Startmenu entry is a registry key that will be changed to it's default setting, not deleted.
I hope this helps!

Thank you for your reply Keith, but I am not sure I understand your answer. Are you saying that if I hit the restore button that mbam will change the registry key back to its default setting?
