Hello,
I have been having computer problems since Janurary. I got some sort of virus that disabled avast and Malwarebytes and eventually took over the computer and my computer wouldn't even boot up but I had a friend that through safe mode finally got Malwarebytes to work again and deleted a bunch of things. At that point I thought everything was running fine. Saturday I was going to run some scans on Malwarebytes and avast as I do when I get a chance so I updated both, before I ran the scans I did some windows updating, it wanted to update adobe and internet explorer. I then tried to run Malware bytes and got a box that said I did not have the correct version for my system so I went to the website and downloaded malware bytes again and did the updates and a scan. It did not dectect anything and neither did my avast scan but when I reboted I started getting errors from FKC.exe. My husband told me to uninstall it and reinstall it from the Alienware website which we did but when trying to install it avast kept coming up with a warning. So finally we deleted the KFC.exe and everything was fine until today. I booted up the computer and was running a malwarebytes scan I started getting warnings on Avast. Malware bytes does not detect anything and my most recent scan on Avast is clear but I am worried that there is something still hiding on my computer.

Here is the log from the most recent avast warnings:

Hi,

The file detected by Avast looks like a false positive - so I suggest you read this: http://forum.avast.c...hp?topic=7779.0 where it is explained how to report false positives to Avast.

Extra note..

I see you have Viewpoint installed...
Viewpoint Manager is considered as foistware instead of malware since it is installed without users approval but doesn't spy or do anything "bad". This will change from what we know in 2006 read this article: http://www.clickz.co...cle.php/3561546
I suggest you remove the program now. Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and remove the following programs if present.

  • Viewpoint
  • Viewpoint Manager
  • Viewpoint Media Player
The rest looks OK :D
