I don't know how it happened but after I used mba and it told me to reboot to eliminate this virus thing a black screen comes on where the log in screen should be. I can still see my mouse and it works. Can someone please help me out(or just point me in the right direction).

**I have a dell inspirion 9400, with a vista bussiness op.***

Do you have the installation CD ?

So you're unable to get to any type of DOS screen, Safe, Last Known Good, etc..?

Best suggestion then for the moment is to shut it down, unplug it and then carefully remove the battery, then the hard drive temporarily. Then put back the hard drive and then put back the battery and see if anything has changed.
