First off, let me say how endlessly helpful this forum has been. I had the System Security virus, it was really a pain, I was scared that I would have to reformat (I hadn't gotten a chance to back up any data). I got on a secure computer, looked around, saw a lot of good things about MBAM, came here, and I've solved a ton of problems by following fixes for similar problems.

I got rid of System Security, got rid of the UAC virus thing that stops MBAM and HijackThis and a couple of other programs from running, got rid of a couple other trojans, and I only have one competitor left. His name is 'Vundo.Trojan.H' and he just won't seem to die.

I've run MBAM, seen the problem, and clicked the 'fix' button. Next scan, it came back. I've run a HijackThis scan, found the entries, deleted them. Came back. I've manually done regedit, found the registry entries, and deleted them. They came back. Vundofix.exe came back with 0 infected files. I'm at a bit of a loss now... and so I come here. I was trying to fix as much as I could on my own, but it seems as if I need some help here. You all seem like a pleasant sort; I feel at home already.

Hi,

First of all, please update MalwareBytes, because the databaseversion is outdated.

• Start MalwareBytes and click the Update tab. There click "Check for updates"
  
• In case you can't update the database via the update option, please download and install the database from here. Only do this when the update option doesn't work.
  
• Once the updates are downloaded, perform a quick scan again.
  
• The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  
• When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  
• Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  
• When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
  
• The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  
• Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply along with a fresh HijackThis log, then we'll proceed from there with new steps.

Extra Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove,you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts,click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer,please do so immediatly.

Hey, thanks for the reply.

I ended up scanning my computer about a dozen times with Malwarebytes and SUPERAntiSpyware. The first few were with outdated versions so I wouldn't catch anything nasty when I got on, then I updated and finished up. I believe I'm clean now; thanks for all the advice throughout the forum.
