I notice every time I download the updates for Malwarebytes (every other day), the size appears to always be about 2MB. I am wondering if these 2MB downloads continue to build-up on my computer.
Each time a download/update is made, does that add 2MB to previous downloads/updates, so it would be like 2MB + 2MB + 2MB and so on - therefore adding up to a very large total (of definitions, etc.) on my computer and possibly cause my computer to become low on free storage space?

Is there any place I can see where those download/updates are stored on my computer?

The database is replaced each time, but the algorithm for heuristic scanning is there to pick up any spyware/malware ect. If mbam was to put 2mb + 2mb + 2mb ect.. on your HD, it will fill up. I did see the same question on here about 6 hours ago.
with a more detailed explanation. but not to worry, what the DB leave on your HD is small. If I find the other post with the same question as yours I'll add it here. or someone else will. did I answer your question? best I could do from memory for now.

This is quite normal. Malwarebytes' doesn't do incrimental type updates using many different definitions files like most other security software, it downloads an entirely new database each time which contains detections for the threats it would've detected previously as well as the new ones that have been added since the update. I'm sure over long periods of time the database will increase somewhat in size because of this, but the developers are always improving their detection methods to be able to detect multiple threats and their variants using smart algorithms (the heuristics) so that each individual component of an infection doesn't need to be added multiple times.

If you have any more questions or need anything else please post.
