you want to monitor a network for threats from the outside?
Scan your PC to see if theres a key logger inside there?

I'm not sure about a program to scan, if you think its inside a pc I have a removal tool for you?
Let me know if you want it?

Thank You.

It is probably best not to proceed unless it is very easy.

I was actualy asking on behalf of someone else.

Three times within the last two weeks someone has changed there eBay and facebook passwords.
They live alone , no one else uses the computer and they insist they are picking passwords that no one should be able to guess.

I don't think they are very computer savy though so it is probably better if they take the computer into a repair technician rather than do it themselves.

If it is an easy removal tool to use though by all means post a link.

But if it is complicated they are probably better off taking it into a repair shop.

But thank you for responding.

now that helps, and I have a removal tool.. but lets see if someone else has a better idea, give it 1 or 2 days for others to post. There are users here that know lots more about security than I ever will.. so I'm interested in there comments also.
sound ok? its a good topic, since I also deal on ebay & deal with paypal, regards.

Key logger detection is somewhat of a sticky subject.

While you say it's 'for a friend' who had his account hacked, I don't think this is the place to discuss methods of detection beyond what scanners would do.

It sounds more to me like this persons account has been hacked, likely due to weak passwords.

Until I get some clarification, I'm closing this thread to see where we stand on offering advice to detect and or remove.

But in this situation, I strongly suggest your friend contact both eBay & Facebook to fix this issue.

If I hear anything different, I'll then re-open the thread.
