The Security Center says antivirus is turned off. I found how to turn on the firewall, but I cannot find how to turn on the antivirus. I use Sophos 7.6.9. My user account says I'm an administrator, but Sophos didn't recognize it.

The system has no internet access even through booting KNOPPIX.

I opened the hosts file in Notepad. It wouldn't save changes.
I cannot boot the system in Safe Mode.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you. -joy

• Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.
  
• Click Yes to allow ComboFix to continue scanning for malware.
  
• When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you.
  
• Please post the C:\ComboFix.txt along with a new HijackThis log so we may continue cleaning the system.
