I installed it onto my desktop with some troubles. When i try to open it it just flashes the hour glass symbol. I am also using AVg 8.5 Free edition. It does the same thing with spybot search and destroy. I would like to know what can I do.

I don't want to sound dumb but which file is the mbam.exe. None of the files end in that.

Hi Mike 5, and welcome to Malwarebytes, spybot search and destroy, If I remember right does that come with a "tea-timer"? If yes, turn it off please... Your AVG, Can you configure it to files you need your AV/Firewall for mbam to trust

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\mbam.sys
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys
C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe
C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref (Windows 2000/XP)

Post back after you look the above over & tell us whats goin on please.. regards...
