My parent's computer is in trouble. They are unable to open up Malware Bytes, they get Google re-directs and will only boot up every once and awhile. Any suggestions????? Please help. Thanks.

1.39 of malwarebytes is out... when you can try to download it & grab the updates, what about your AV/Firewall? what do you use please?

That's part of the problem - no AV/Firewall.

You really need to get a Anti Virus Program on there, like: Avira, or Avast. Malwarebytes complements a good AV program! Avira will pick up any Virus activity & Malwarebytes will watch the malware/spyware activity.

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware can detect and remove malware that even the most well known anti-virus and anti-malware applications fail to detect. Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware monitors every process and stops malicious processes before they even start. The Realtime Protection Module uses our advanced heuristic scanning technology which monitors your system to keep it safe and secure.

As for a firewall maybe ZoneAlarm, or a combined AV/Firewall program would work also, ie: Trend Micro Internet Security.
If you think your infected? We can have your logs read, in the HJK forum. (bear in mind that forum is very busy now)

So it would not do any harm to install an AV program, soon !!! Please post back with anything we can help you with..regards
