i followed the intructions on this site rea. installing malwarebytes and hijackthis due to a virus i have. however now i am stuck. when i ran malwarebytes scan, the virus stopped my scan midway through and re-booted my comp (tried this several times) i then ran hijackthis and it came up with 40 or so files. me being uneducated with viruses and whatnot decided to fix/clear all the files shown to me by hijackthis. well, now i cant get past the windows start up screen to use my computer and i need help. when i turn on my comp. it will load windows xp, and take me to my windows log-in. once i type in my password it says its loading my personal settings..and then sends me right back to windows xp load and then back to windows log in. just a continuos circle. i dont know if this is the virus or my own fault since i fixed/cleared all files that hijackthis showed me. any help whatsoever on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated. i copy/pasted my first post below if any background is needed.
last week my laptop was infected. my wallpaper is now blue with binary code running through it and some message saying i have spyware. everytime i boot up i get a fake virus scan that i didnt DL trying to scan my comp. i was directed to this site to DL malwarebytes, and hijackthis. i installed malwarebytes and proceeded to do the scan however whatever has infected my computer stops the scan midway through and reboots my computer. I then installed hijackthis and scanned the computer and came up with 40 or so boxes. (here is where i feel i really messed up) i told hijackthis is fix/delete all boxes. (i wasnt sure what i was doing just wanted the virus gone) and now my computer wont boot up anymore. when i power up it says its loading vista and takes me to my windows log-in screen. when i type in my password it says it is loading my personal settings, then take me back to the windows vista start up and then back to windows log in. a continuos circle. what do i need to do to fix this and how do i carry out these tasks?
