Hi.. been running the program for awhile now that PC is clean.. program runs ok from shortcut and I have it set for startup protection. Things run fine for awhile then I get an Error Code 707 (3) box randomly... any ideas? Not sure when the box popped up - could have been middle of night. Thx.

Have a look at this FAQ. you will see error code 707 fix is a reinstallation

Thx.. I've downloaded the VB6 common controls and will see if this stops the error... appreciate the help!

Hi--

I'm resurrecting this post because I've received an error 707 (3 , 0) during attempted installation of malwarebytes. I went to the tutorial and I updated the Visual Basics but still get the same error. I'm not very technical at all but here is what I have done.

Entered XP in safemode and ran ad-aware (ran it a few times and it seemed to keep finding the same dll) so I attempted deletion of that offending dll and restarted the computer, ran ad-aware again and it shows clean. I also ran CCleaner and it dumped all the excess stuff as well as fixed/cleaned the registry. I attempted a randomized malwarebytes installation file and simply get the 707 error. I'm running Zone Alarm all the time at max security (even when I got this malware ( ) and continually have issues with my browsers (Chrome, Firefox, IE) stalling out and never displaying a page while being bombarded by pop-ups displaying anti-virus ads and sometimes random things. The computer will also slow to the point I need to force it to shut down.

I appreciate your help and if you need any more info, please let me know.

Installing VB6 Common Controls will not help you because you have an active malware infection which is interfering with MBAM.

But we are unable to give help with malware removal in the general forums.
