My daily MBAM scan for the past few days has been finding the same two things every time. The effects I'm seeing alter the setting for IE. One day I had a black line across the menu (had to change the font to white to be able to see the letters), today when I opened IE it had replaced my normal settings (I use classic Windows settings) with the normal XP version. Also, my drop down favorites menu was partially frozen. All of these problems are resolved after scanning and removing the files with MBAM. From the looks of the malware names, I'm guessing this happens when Windows updates on my computer (I have it set for automatic updates), but I'd appreciate an expert's opinion. Thanks. Here are the MBAM and HijackThis logs:

alexboy Hi

Im thinking SUPERAntiSpyware, Avira or some other protection program is interfearing with fixing those items.
Try turning them off temporaraly (while disconnected from the internet)

Do you mean turn off Avira before running the next MBAM scan? MBAM seems to remove the two files just fine even with Avira running, it's just that they pop up again next time I start up. What do you think about turning off the automatic Windows updates?

Yes disable avira and any other protection software, after first disconnecting from the internet (never connect without an active antivirus)
run Mbam and fix whats found, allow it to reboot the PC, re-enable avira and connect again.
After a few hours run another Mbam scan to see it the two items returned ?

Windows update wouldnt have anything to do with this.

I've got a bigger problem now. I must've picked up something that's preventing both MBAM and HijackThis from running. Both start, run for a couple seconds and then close, after which I can't access them again unless I reinstall the programs. I'm going to look around the forum to see if I can find some tips to help, but if you have any ideas on this, I'll be happy to hear them.
