Good afternoon,

I spent the last few days working on my boss's son's laptop with Windows Antivirus Pro 2010 malware. Once I figured out that I had to change the install name for MBAM and then change the launch name of MBAM, I finally got rid of the virus pop-up.

However, neither IE8 or Firefox can browse the internet unless I'm in safe mode. I ran SmitFraudFix as well as scanning it with AVG, Norton, Trendmicro's Housecall and even IOBit's Security 360. Each AV found a different piece of malware. Something is still in there but I've run out of ideas.

Worst case, we back up the data on Monday and rebuild from scratch.

The forums are really busy, that explains why logs get behind. If you still need some help, then please update your mbam (update tab > check for update), rescan and post the log in your next reply together with a new HijackThis log.
Then I'll take a look.
